well after reading all of these posts, i find myself wondering if it could ever be good enough, with enough features, for some people???
go get DBreg its stable and has very few bugs, but it doesn't have.... waaa waaa waaa 'sniffle' 'sniffle' waaaaaaa all the features...
i'm not necessarily sticking up for the DB team, but i don't see all these problems that some have
it seems nearly all problems can be worked around i mean basically isn't that what programming really is?
if your telling me that the only reason you aren’t or haven't written the next best greatest game is because of the few bugs that can't be worked around then i'd tell you your full of crap
so on to the car analogy
the one thing left out of the whole equation is the price
i don't know about most of the people on this board, but if they are like me they have several thousand in software and short of word, windows and explorer i've used DB more over the last 10 months(when i bought it) than pretty much any other program, so i've got my moneys worth, bugs and all. if you haven't then that’s on you, not the program makers
and one other thing
writing a language is infinitely harder than writing a game or application because by nature games and applications have a beginning and an ending , point ‘a’ to point ‘b’ and your done, but a language has no beginning or ending so it is infinite or at least only limited by the skill and imagination of those who write and use it
My advice is free -
