Greetings everyone!

As many of you may know, S4real and myself have been severely lacking in time to work on our Mod. This means we have let many of our faithful users wait in the darkness for us to return without any sort of plan to help with their issues. This isn't right, as they are our customers and we do want to help them. And as sad as it is, both of us must stop our work on Project Blue.

That's right. We're both leaving. But what does this mean for Project Blue and its user base? It means we had a long thought about what to do. And we have finally come to an agreement... Project Blue is being handed off to new management! Yes, two new users will be managing PB for us. Both for general management and for coding.

You're probably wondering who was lucky enough to be picked for such tasks. After quite a bit of tossing the idea around, we found a very reliable member with a good reputation to manage the project and take over s4real's role. Also, we have chosen someone that we feel is a reliable programmer and modder to take up my role.

I hope everyone will give a warm welcome to the new PB team:
BlackFox - Manager
-AND-
hockeykid - Developer

I know what some of you may be thinking here. "What's going to happen to Fenix Mod?" Fenix Mod will still exist and continue. I have agreed to allow him to merge PG (which is already free) with Fenix Mod.
"Didn't hockeykid just get Horror Mod? What's going to happen there?" Yes, hockeykid is the new owner of Horror Mod. Horror Mod will be implemented into Fenix Mod. But... I feel for the users of Horror Mod that don't want to feel ripped off. That is why, owners of Horror Mod will be transfered and welcome as PB users if they so wish.
"So... is everything going into Project Blue?" That's the plan. There's no telling what all will end up in Project Blue, but hockeykid aims to bring all of Fenix Mod (including its new Horror Mod additions) into Project Blue, after the Horror Mod merge is complete and stable.

I will ask now that a Moderator please lock the previous Project Blue thread, so that BlackFox may create a new one, under new management. He has been updated with all of the bugs and problems people have experienced with Project Blue, so nothing will be lost. We just need him to create the thread, so he has editing powers of the first post.

Wow! Congratulations BlackFox and hockeykid! Does this mean we will be seeing a super mod with the merge of PB with Fenix/Horror mod?

So Fenix mod will now be Project Blue, meaning it will be free, or not?
I must say I'm slightly dissapointed, NOT because it might not be free.

Fenix Mod will remain free and will get PG on the other had PB will remain a purchasable mod and will get Fenix Mod.

So since I was a past owner of Horror mod, I can get PB which will eventually be merged with Fenix Mod?! Awesome!

Drat! That means we're losing Ply's modding talents!!
Question though...does this mean the prizes for the Christmas compettion will be the new Project Blue Mod (with Fenix, etc. added onto it)?

EDIT: Congratulations to both Blackfox and hockeykid the, no doubt, proud new owners of PBUM. Good luck!

Yes. The prize was for a copy of Project Blue. That means the winner will be a user of PB, obtaining any updates to it from then on.

Given the circumstances... I don't think the winner will have a choice of which Mod they want to get, and I notice that there's a setup for this between first and second place.

I will let Nickydude know that both first and second place winners may have a copy of PB. The details will be forwarded to BlackFox, and he will handle the update.

No, PG won't be in until V1.2 of Fenix Mod. Fenix Mod V1.1 will hopefully be released on Christmas and the beta testers will receive their beta today.

Exciting news.

I would like to ask if we PB users can expect a release of PB 1.8 soon? I know it's quite far in development having beta tested it and I would prefer having a stable release of that version before we see a million features migrated into PB (that could cause long delays).

Thanks for the intro Plystire.

Just a quick post to let you know that a new thread for Project Blue will be posted soon. I would like to ask that you refrain from asking too many questions in this topic and allow us to get the final details sorted. Once that happens, we will be posting a new topic and will direct all your questions/posts there.

Thank you all for the support, and we look forward to getting to know you all better.

Edit: I noticed the old topic of Project blue has been locked. Thanks to our wonderful Mods for their time and efforts to fulfill our requests. We will get the new post online as soon as we can.

Cheers

To all,

I would like to clear the air and hopefully sort out any confusion to the mods or what is happening.

1. Fenix mod and Project Blue are TWO seperate entities and will remain that way.

2. While I can appreciate everyone's excitement over the recent news, I want to say at this moment that asking whether Project Blue is going into Fenix/vice versa is for myself and HockeyKid to discuss. I do appreciate everyone's input on ideas/suggestions. However, please could you give myself and HockeyKid a day or two just to get everything sorted out? We are working as quickly as we can to get the last minute changes and details dealt with.

3. Any questions relating to Project Blue, licensing, beta testers, etc should be directed to myself. If possible, e-mail is the best as I am not always on the forum, but my e-mail gets forwarded to me when mobile.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Cheers

This kind of an urgent question i would really like answered ASAP. I have many more but i'll save them for the thread.

I have a question I bought Project Blue and Horror mod. If they now are becoming one mod, I wasted my money on horror mod. Will i get any money back or will i have purchased it for nothing?

Very happy for hockey kid and blackfox. I cant wait to see things like meele in Project Blue! Partials, cloth, more gore! It will be like some super hyped up mod! I would help with programming at any time (no worries for me stealing the mod cause i have no intention of starting my own mod) and i don't mind if i get anything in return

I'm a registered user of Horror Mod and would love to carry this over to PB, how will this transfer work? Will Horror Mod users be sent a download link automatically or will we need to request a copy?

*EDIT*

Sorry, I've just seen S4real's comment on the other thread. I'll wait for BlackFox.

This is just an announcement thread, folks! It is not happeing this very minute, so no need to get nervous.

I'm confident that Blackfox and hockeykid will be capable of handling all of your questions in the new thread. I have done my best to keep both of them up to speed with how things could pan out, but if they choose to take it a different direction then I will honor their decision, as should everyone.

Quote: "What are s4real and Plystire doing next? What fantastic adventures are they about to embark on?"

I have started a company with a close friend of mine, which is gaining quite a bit more interest than I had expected, so my attention needs to be focused there now. It's coming along well, and if all pans out well, then perhaps I can return one of these days and help out more around here like I used to. It's a rough perid right now, though, and I don't expect it to get better until at least June. But I'm loving every minute of it, so all is well.

im very unhappy with this news. i wanted to see how 1.8 would have turn out in s4real hands. for this news to come out like this after waiting for so long. i wanted to see how stable was 1.8 going to be but now i dont know about this. plus more performance what can say im lost for words. i have tried or seen the other mods and didn t like. i felt this mod was worth paying for because it was the most stable one. but i will test out the new version when its release but wont install it on my main one. i just hope this turns out good, so good luck guys. plus in stead of working on three different mod just put all of them together.

Good morning from igloo-land . I dropped in to answer a few of the questions.

Quote: "I have a question I bought Project Blue and Horror mod. If they now are becoming one mod, I wasted my money on horror mod. Will i get any money back or will i have purchased it for nothing?
"

Well Arenas, to clear it up for you and everyone else. None of Horror Mod is going into Project Blue. As stated before, Fenix has Horror and will be incorporating Project Green. Project Blue is a seperate entity and will remain a seperate entity.

Quote: "Sorry if I missed this anywhere, but if we already own Project Blue do we still get all updates free?"

Yes Marc, you still get the updates free, both the current users on the purchased list and new users.

Quote: "I'm a registered user of Horror Mod and would love to carry this over to PB, how will this transfer work? Will Horror Mod users be sent a download link automatically or will we need to request a copy?"

I will be working on that Scene Commander. I am sorting through some last minute details on this transfer and then I will be dealing with this on an individual basis. Chances are you will receive an e-mail from myself directly with instructions.

Quote: "Right now i am with horror mod and would like to switch to PB. As ply said how does the switch work. Did you get a list of keys/names from knxrb so you know who we are?"

I received your e-mail Unixfr3ak and the response is the same as outlines to Scene Commander.

Quote: "Two days ago (when the thread was still opened, I think... ) I paid to S4real the £17 for the project blue mod. Then, yesterday, I saw this thread, will something happen with my bought?"

Deadly Massacre, I will contact s4real and confirm he received payment. Once that is confirmed, i will send you an e-mail with the download instructions.

All:

I realize that some may have many questions and want answers. Please understand that I am doing my best to ensure a smooth transition. However, please recognize that I work outside of FPSC/Project Blue and may not be available all the time. I will have my wife step in during my absence to ensure this flows smoothly without interruptions or answer questions you might have.

Our official forum post will be made soon.

Cheers

Are none of the features from the other two mods going into Project Blue? Like Meele and the switch weapon command (switches current weapon)? Those are the two i was personally wanting to have added to PB... If none of the mods are being mixed, then I think that there will be ALOT of disappointment in the community, as someone with these 3 great mods wont be merging them...

@ Arenas

The first task is to allow HockeyKid to continue his Fenix+Horror integration. Once that is done, then we will be working on the Project Blue v1.8. Once v1.8 has been tested and is ready, then we will be discussing the next stage.

My intention was to make it clear that Project Blue is not going into Fenix. We may take some of Fenix's features to add to Project Blue, but that will be for myself and HockeyKid to discuss. HockeyKid is the owner of Fenix+Horror, and has permission to integrate Project Green. That is his project and has nothing to do with me or Project Blue. Project Blue is now under new ownership- myself and HockeyKid. Therefore, as I mentioned before, we will be keeping these two projects seperate for the moment. Recognize that there is more "behind-the-scenes" work than some people may realize when you pass a project from one to another. There are a lot of little "details" that are being finalized, and takes a few days (especially during the holiday time) to sort out. Integrating all these mods is step "25", and we are only on step "2". I hope that makes some sense.

I am open to any suggestions, requests, or ideas you or anyone may have. Nothing gets passed to the recycle bin, or ignored, regardless of what it is. I want to be certain that all details have been covered and we have not overlooked anything or anyone during this transition.

Cheers

Mike

It's nice to know that it will be in good hands.

As long as Fenix gains Ply's variables from PG or PBUM gets Hockeykid's weapon melee and the sticky blocking sorted, I'll be content.

I hope s4 remembered me on the transfer list!

My idea is compile Horror Mod,Project Green and Fenix Mod together and form a new Project Green, then merge new Project Green with the latest Project Blue.Green will be free,Blue will be for purchase like now.

Id still prefer Fenix to be Fenix,or else everyone would think both mods content was all by Ply and S4 or something

I think this is the best way things could have happened for the community. With Lee constantly putting off the migration, which I currently am doubting will happen, it's quickly becoming the communities responsibility to improve FPSC.

Can't wait to see how this all sorts out, best of luck to the new owners
