I want to have my game name as a title on the game menu but dont know how to do it all the other files are .dds
Can you help thanks?

You make your image a .png and save it in the folder where the actual menu title is and then you go to build game and choose it in there. Click the menu thingy and there you see a text that says title or something and you click the box next to it and choose it. Hope it helped!

Or you can download Paint.NET,which is 100% free,and i think can work with direct-draw surface

Well you can do the title in the Paint.NET and do it like that. Or you could make teh title in the backgrpund. That's how I do it.

Make a pic of your Title then save it in any of these formats; bmp,jpg,png,tga,dds. any of these will work.

open your setuplevel.fpi and around line 20 you will see this code.

:state=0:hudreset,hudx=50,hudy=10,hudimage=languagebank\english\gamecore\backdrops\basic\gamemenu.tga,hudname=gamemenutitle,hudhide=1,hudmake=display

replace the gamemenu.tga with the name and extention you gave your title pic.
make sure you save your title pic to the same location as in the code line.

That's it.
