I'm working on a dragon model for a game I'm making.
Please tell me what you think.

*still loves that sig*

Well not to pimp on mine, but you need to have the shoulders flow better with the torso and neck. The wings to the extent need to have some structure to them. Anatomy is hard to find for creatures as such so try looking at a birds wing structure and see how it connects to the skeleton.

The face needs to be more developed, it seems to flow too much and as a result it seems to have a worm effect going. The spikes are over the top, the size should really decrease with the structure , so the tails' spikes need to be reduced.

Over all without knitpicking at the faults, it seems a alright mesh, if got a half decent texture, though the animation might seem buggy due to some strange poly flows.

Heres a screen dump of the wing flow and legs of my drag atm.

The poly flow isnt perfect yet, and im still finding flaws here and thier but it generally works. Since this is for an animation piece i have to make sure it will deform across the board without buggynees. Which is still does since the poor rig itself lol.

I think a dragon's spine spikes should be highest over the hips. That is the highest point on the ridges on the backs of most reptiles that have them, such as crocodiles and various dinosaurs.

I suppose your right to say that it would make more sense to have the spikes largest at the hi[s, but you always get abetter effect with them being larger on the neck anf lowing down, like a mane in a sense.

Okay, thanks for the critizm (if I can spell it). I'll get right on improving it.

you have the right idea but you aren't working in high enough detail to make a good dragon the spikes should be 6 to 8 sided a dragons wing would have a joint at the top of were it connects which would act as a shoulder. and that's a lot of spikes off the top of the head which should be the last thing you do. and the feet should be similar to a birds in the way it webs but the shape of a dog or cat.

thats all i notice right now.

oh right the wing should be deleted and re added after you finish the rest of the body. its like modeling a head the ears are the last to be added but you leave a slit the works for the ear.

@Azunaki Ok I see what you mean. I'll work on that some more.

@lazerus This is my first one. That's why I posted it here so that I could get advice so I could see how to make a better dragon.

Kicking around on Da, and found something that'd be of use for you.

Its not too hard to find anotmy these days. Seems that where smart enough to build muscle realistic structures for things that dont exsist ^_^

Ive always used a running dog structure when i draw mine.
