Here's a link to a Text to Voice Program that's free and no spyware that I can find.

If you can afford it.... these are the best voices you can buy today.

In the TTS program select the male voice for reading the text.

Select the Read to File Option.

Copy your new sound file to the audiobank folder located in the fpsc files folder folder.

use a trigger zone or sound zone marker
select your wav sound file in the sound selection area at the bottom of the editor

or use your own fpi

;Artificial Intelligence Script

;Header

desc = play myfile.wav

;Triggers

:state=0,plrwithinzone=1:state=1,sound=audiobank\user\myfile.wav

this post might need to be in the fpsc script threads

Never give up trying. Just try it another way that works for you.

I've not used a lot of text to speech converters but you can record your own voice and use something like Audacity which is free to modify it for different effects.

I was messing around with it and found a perfect Dalek configuration. It was impossible to recognise my voice using it.

@m4marksman

I used to use Cool Edit Pro to do stuff like that but Adobe took over and I gave up on it.

I guess you can still get it off the net at some of those Older Versions sites that has all the old stuff archived. That's what I would do if I was you m4marksman.

Good Idea Nomad.

You know what? A "Balabolka" in russian (not officially) means the same as "Chatterbox".

I think all those programs are not worth paying, they "read" text like old broken robots. I think that the best way is to record your own sound and then mix it with, for example, Adobe Audition. Soundforge would also be fine!

Its my own surname? really!

AT&T has a free text to speech tool online. There a about a dozen voices to choose from, including different languages, and it's free. Yes, they all sound robotic so if you need something smooth and natural, it's best to record your own. Then use a free program like Audacity to alter the voice to your needs.

I can say one thing about Loquendo Voices........

They sound great!

I use them all the time for my software development. I sometimes get clients who are visualy impaired and I use Loquendo voices as a mouse over or F1 function.

They're not free but worth the price if you use that kind of thing like I do.

Never give up trying. Just try it another way that works for you.
