I'd probably suggest you remove the site link in your post and forward to either TGC or the Mods.

Cheers

Why have you posted this here for other members to view?

You should edit your post and remove the link, ask for a mod to lock this thread and then contact a mod about it.

[Edit]Posted at same time as blackfox.

Please email a mod when you want to report a site, don't put the link on the forum for all to see. Thanks.

I just sent keithc and nickydude some great model pack links. LOL I must say this beware of the sites I sent you if you both have good vps then I would check them, but if you don't it will shut you down. Good luck.

Look there are sites all over the place that have stuff like this and there really isnt much we can do about it, for example:

[mod edited]
and a couple of others that i cant remember off the top of my head, but beleive me i've tried to stop them but just cant. Also lots of "cops" know about this but its just not that simple as shuting down the entire site.

There are things that can be done but in most cases these things must be reported properly to the host or registrant by the proper party. Contacting the site or site owners is useless in most cases because they not only know about it, but allow or even do it themselves. You must contact the sites host or registrant, but to do this with any results you must be the owner of the content that is being pirated. That is why you should report your findings to TGC or the owner of the content so that they can take the proper steps. Just as in the real world, there is a procedure that must be followed.

Before you say it doesn't matter or that it won't do any good, I want to assure you that is does work when done properly and I can personally attest to it working for me and my clients on multiple occasions.

Well spoken Brian. This is where some of us with a "corporate" entity can actually do something about it

Cheers

Brian and Mike are correct in what they have said and I would like to add a note to those who in the future plan to sell their own creations on the net...

1. If you make your creations downloadable as an unlockable shareware... be prepared to protect it from this very example.

2. Any software that can be freely downloaded and which can be converted to a full version by using a key is open to pirating.

3. Under U.S. Federal Laws (thanks to Bill Clinton) these pirates can legally hack your software for testing purposes and do so every day. (most true hackers are actually employed by the software developers to test their software vulnerabilities from unlawful hacking)

4. ENUs cannot protect you when it comes to Software Pirating.

5. Personalized Software is the closest thing to protecting your software you can get.
(e-mail me if you would like to know more)

A LOCKED DOOR ONLY KEEPS AN HONEST PERSON HONEST!

If you want your future customers to try your software before they buy it Give them a version which only does limited features that is not unlockable or actually programed in the software itself.

Same for games. Only Partial Levels should be downloadable.

Take Care in the Future.

Never give up trying. Just try it another way that works for you.

Links often pop up on non-torrent file-sharing sites. If ever a link is found (usually it's a list of links) that info should be forwarded directly to RickV of TGC.

Contact TGC directly. Don't make a post and wait for staff to see and take action.

Those sites are usually very good about removing the files once they have had an infringement notice sent.

Granted, someone else will just re-upload them later but it does cause the old links to become broken which presumably chips away at the reputation of the individual doing the uploading.
