Hello, i am working on a piece of software that is designed to work alongside Darkbasic Pro.
Basically, it is an easy to use program, from which you select several options to create a fully functioning RPG. Here is a screen shot of it at the moment:

I will add new functions as i go along, like a Quest Editor. I am also working on a map editor for it.

It is designed so that it generates the code for DBPro itself, so users can modify it themselves.

I'm not sure whether i will sell it, if i do, then it will *hopefully* on The Game Creators.

Please post any thoughts or comments/suggestions,

Thanks,

The way you are currently going about this project is very limiting for the user. You need to add more flexibility.

At the moment, it seems like all RPG's created with it will have only 1 terrain, 3 rocks/trees/plants, 6 enemies, 4 player animations, and 3 menu buttons at max. This needs to be redone so that you can add items yourself for each category. Otherwise, your application is going to make simple cookie cutter games.

Other than that, good luck.

I am adding more functionality as i said, but this is only supposed to be the skeleton. It generates DBPro code so users can add on to it.

Ok, I am now going through the code, rewriting sections allowing the user to have more than each of the specified asset.
And also, the Environment section is just space between the towns, cities etc.

I think this sounds a great idea. At the very least it can create a basic program template for beginning programmers who want to make something like this - they can get a simple game up and running with this, examine the code, and start tinkering with it, and eventually turn it into something more ambitious. I wouldn't be surprised if some great DBPro games of the future start life as the output of this tool.

I actually want to download this. The main problem for newer gamemakers is starting a map. They(we,I am one of them:p) would love this, it would give them a place to start and motivate them to keep on with their projects.

Enjoy me, I am JDmino.

@ Mitch793,

This looks like it could be a very useful project to many - any progress / add-ons / additions planned?

a long time dabbler with DBC and DBPro with no actual talent but lots of enthusiasm...
