Sorry for the weird size of the picture. My screen shot for some reason got the HUD in it too so I had to edit the picture myself. I wanna keep it a surprise!

That street lamp would look so much better with directional lighting... Ah well. Maybe for the migration.

Looks good. I seriously love the lighting.

EDIT: Are you using a mod?

Hey guys, I have come across a problem in the past two days that I thought would fix it self. but it hasnt yet.

So the LED flashlights made by Errant I think, no longer lights up any segments! Only entities. It wont light up a room anymore. Only the entities inside of it. Can anyone help me out here?

Hmm...

Do you have shaders on? Dynamic Lighting?

If that continues to fail, you can use the flashlight script that comes with Fenix Mod.

Yeah, I have those on. But are they not suppose to be for the flashlight to work?

Alright, I have posted a thread in the scripts section, but until then, update:

The flashlight DOES work with shaders on. I am now trying to only make it work when you are shooting the LED. No luck.

You can do the standby of pressing F to turn it on/off whenever, no matter the weapon. But I wasn't sure if you wanted that.

I will keep at it, though.

Alrighty sounds good! Thank you so much, again. I looked at the script and I love the idea you have behind it. I hope you're able to get it all fixed up so it can work. Ill be sure to include you in the "Special Thanks" part of the game as well!

Sorry for the double post, but THIS my friends, is what a breakthrough is all about!

It looks small, but that's because I went through a lot of trial and error to make it. Technical stuff. (not knowing where usingweapon directs, the mouseclick condition not being right in the manual, etc.) but I DID IT!

EDIT: It's off here now. That's right. No stealing for you.

Yes! I feel so proud.

The only known glitch is that it works when you don't have any weapons...But that's easy, just make it start out with the LED.

Wow, this is truly generous of you my friend! I absolutely can not wait to give the a try. I seriously cant thank you enough for what you've done! Im really happy you've helped me out Shadowtroid.

So do I put this script into any dynamic entity? or just the LED pick up weapon?

Any dynamic entity. I myself used a crate.

I think it looks tons better than the regular light from the LED.

And don't forget, in the GUNSPEC, to change the MUZZLEFLASHR,MUZZLEFLASHB,and MUZZLEFLASHG to 1.

In these pictures, you can notice that when the light is directed at something, it actually lights up whats in front of you and darkens the rest. You would think that it would do that no matter what, but the LED script will light up everything around the player, no matter what direction you're looking.

Notice the outer rim of the sink adjusting the shadows as you move left and right of it. Very cool script Shadowtroid.

Shadowtroid, im sorry to bug you man. But a few posts back, there is a script posted where it will actually deactivate the gun equipped making it so it can not fire or in this case, shine. But with this script you have made, it doesn't seem to be compatible. Could you perhaps see why that is? Im trying to make it so the flashlight turns off at certain areas of the map. But now it wont turn off in this zone. It remains somewhat on.

The script was posted by Outdoor Gamer on the 2nd page I think.

The pictures above were taken while in the "Lights Off" zone. There is no shiny decal at the front of the flashlight because the gun doesnt turn on. but the light will still sort of turn on while in the zone. Its just dim. This is what I would like to be fixed. If thats not possible thats totally cool. Dont even worry about it!

Redo post:

I got it. Were you planning on having a currency system in your game? If not, then I have a solution: using the currency as a variable to see if you are in the zone or not. (currency is a good global variable I'm familiar with. )

Use the same appear script, but use this main script:

EDIT: This is gone too. Yeah, thought you were pretty sly there, huh. Tring to get the revised script. Well, no dice, random bystander.

No prob.

Also, something that helps me in building games, is while it's building, go into task manager and set all processes (under the processes tab) related to FPSC to "Realtime" priority. That usually helps me when my RAM fails me.

Also, I think I sent you an email.

Heh. That's ok.

But I gotta say, the most annoying part is scripting has got to be syntax errors. Like, putting "starttimer" instead of "timerstart"...Makes you mad. MAD I SAY!

I'm guessing we need to defend that?

Also, I would change the lightsource on it...Doesn't seem natural.

*WOULD YOU LIKE A FREE COPY OF DH:BO AND 3 FREE ONLINE MAPS THAT CORRESPOND TO THE GAME?*

Hey there guys, as you well know, I am unable to release to you all the demo of the game. It is ready to be played and enjoyed by all of you. But, I have yet to come up with a solution to my build game error. So, I have come up with an incentive. If you can provide me with the solution to my problem, I will send you your own FREE copy of Dominic Harvey: Black Out AND 3 FREE online maps that correspond with the game once they're completed. If you would like to see more on the bug, please visit this thread... http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=166393&b=28&p=0

Yeah Shadowtroid, it will be giving upon completion. As of right now, its not done. Were still going to work on it together until about level 10 or so. Once its done, one lucky person will be given a free copy. PLUS! Were going to work on the online maps together also.

Start building

Go into Task Manager

Go under the "processes" tab

Look for FPSC-Game*32

Set it's priority to "Realtime"

That is not guaranteed to help, but it will allocate it more RAM, increasing your chances.

I had that idea also, but unfortunately it doesn't work. I have no idea why... So what im thinking im going to do is just reinstall FPSC and see if that will work. I dont have the disc with me right now but once I find it ill do that and im sure that will make it work because I saw another thread with the same problem and it was fixed with reinstalling it. It might have something to do with Fenix mod. Im not sure. But for right now, lets keep workin on the game. Im sure it will all be fixed up in a bit!

Oh yeah, hows the script coming Shadowtroid? I cant wait to see what you've worked on! Im sure it'll be great!

Hey there Everyone!

I am very sorry I haven't been able to update you guys on the game progress. I have been really busy with my school work these past few weeks and its kept me away from my game for some time. I haven't stopped doing small additions to my game though. I haven't abandoned it, I promise! I have been doing little bits and pieces in my spare time just to try and keep this game alive. Shadowtroid, if you're still helping me with the game, please let me know. I haven't heard from you in a while! So anyway, I think in about 4 or 5 days ill have a demo up for you guys all to play! I'm getting my game back from storage to reinstall it on my computer and that should fix all my problems! So now that I have more free time from school, ill be updating the game a lot more often! Tomorrow ill probably have 2 pictures uploaded on what Ive been working on. So keep checking back in!

I got to head off though now, I just wanted to update you guys on whats going on with my game so you don't lose hope!

Please let me know if you have any questions okay!
Have a good day/night all readers.

Hey there Cloudwalker! Thats a pretty good question. I know the demo will be free of course, but im not sure if the full game will be free or like 2 dollars. What I might do is a random selection of 3 or 4 people who can get the game for free. Im thinking about sending this game in for copy writing and then send it off to try and get some sort of publishing deal. Thats only if I get great feedback from my fellow TGC Forum members. Im pretty sure to all of those on TGC will get the game for free, and others will have to pay!

Hey there Shadowtroid! Its great to finally hear from ya! you know what, just dont worry about that script anymore. Its causing too much of a hassle on you. And I dont want that for you. Let me think of some other stuff that you can help me with alright buddy!

Every one else!
