and in ms3d it says: ERROR (13): ERR_READING_FILE: Error occured while reading file"

I had the same error.

Got it to work by importing the .3ds into Blender then exporting it as an obj. It then imported fine into Max.

It's cool, I got real busy all of a sudden...time to do the taxes...always a drag.

I'll be posting some new textures soon, but as I said before, there is no set completion date.

I reworked the Hei texture and I started a spidey texture for fun. Might add detail or maybe just release it as is.

And here is Captain Jean-Luc Picard!

Quote: "Duty. A starship captain's life is filled with solemn duty. I have commanded men in battle. I have negotiated peace treaties between implacable enemies. I have represented the Federation in first contact with twenty-seven alien species."

I attached the texture as a PNG. It is also 1024x1024. If it should be jpg, or smaller, let me know and I will gladly change it!

Well with Picard reaching 1% it is.....Because the needs of the 1%... outweigh the needs of the many!

An "Old Snake" texture made by hand, along with some parts from an actual picture of old snake from the game.
Update: Stopped here. Decided that without my tablet's pen, and enough experience for that matter, this model becomes far too difficult (for me). I also decided to make the texture size 512X512 because every other texture has been like that. Most of the texture was handmade, except for certain parts like the ears, eyes, nose, and somewhat the hair (I cloned the a small peice of the real hair of old snake in one of the pictures to all over his head). All he needs are his bandana straps. + I think I sharpenned the texture a bit too much, but that's nothing a small blur won't fix. -SJHooks

Thought about practicing rigging and animating today. When I finished rigging, it hit me, are you going to make a seperate thread for "1000 animations" or something? Cause then we'd have the perfect database for people new to game programming to have such a wide variety of characters and animations to use, so that'd be a good way for newbies to start out

Sorry I haven't worked on this project lately, I was taking procrastination 101 Since this was created for educational purposes, I decided to try 3D texture painting. So far it aint bad, but I see complications with applying my Raiden picture to the model EDIT:
So far, I've gotten so much done. When I finished the most I can by only using one texture on this model on the face, I'm gonna give it a break and study anatomy a little more, because if you see the cyborg body of his from the jaw down has transparent skin (mostly) and you can see the artificial muscles on the inside. BTW, to make better hair I'd probably need a new wacom tablet, unless anyone can suggest a way other than painting it manually . DOUBLE EDIT: What was to be, I screwed up and lost the texture file, and I'll restart again later, but instead of posting new posts I'll keep the progess on by editing this post, and when I'm done I'll just make one quick post that I'm done and w/e

Eh... I lost the texture file in some spring cleaning for my computer clutter... guess I'll have to restart ^^ To be honest though, I'll try the Raiden thing later, it seems a bit to hard for my level.

I like it ...

I'm working on a little top down game tutorial thing, for RPG's like Zelda. Anyhoo I could use that as the base character, then there would be loads of textures etc ready to go, if anyone wanted to make their own game. I'll rig and animate it, and the whole lot will be uploaded. With such a low polycount, there could be hundreds of those blighters running around.
