Hi everyone,

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious here, but is it possible to make an entity immune to ambient lighting, so even if the ambience is low (around 5 or so) the entity will appear as if the ambience was 100?

Thanks,
Marc

Try to turn the entity into dynamic and remove any shaders. That should work.

Best,
TheK

I'd use a shader to fix the entity lighting at 100%

I'd agree, but I don't know how to make shaders

Hi Marc

I think this can probably be achieved by modifying one of the stock shaders in effectbank.

I'll check it out when I get home tonight.

@Marc Steene

It turned out to be quite straight forward. Just make the entity dynamic and apply the shader 'illuminationent.fx' to it.

Make sure you are only using a diffuse texture (texture_D2.dds) then the entity will not be affected by ambient lighting.

If you want to use other textures with the entity e.g. normal map you will need to use something like 'bumpent.fx' and edit it.
