Hey guys, just though I would show off my WIP for this months Combo.

Im going for an AVATAR inspired world. Sort of anyway. Here is the world:

Im going to add more detail like a ship flying towards a base, and im still messing around with the enviroment.

Any C&C is welcome!

Looks cool, though I think it's a bit dark, unless your focal objects will be much brighter. What packages are you using? Also, go for the floating cliffs, Cameron has no copyrights.

Thanks man! Im using Vue 7.5 for the world, although i modelled the ship and the buildings in Cinema 4D. Here is what I ended up with.

I'm Thinking of starting again, I like the scene but it is too dark and I would prefer to start on a blank canvas now I know what I want.

Well here is the new version. I'm not sure on which one I prefer so I would be interested to hear what people think.

i really like the second one are you going to sell these or in some way make them available?

If someone is legally blind and all of a sudden they can see are they breaking the law?

Damm Vue -_-"

I still couldnt get the free version to work lol, will try again later. I only want it for its rendering capabilities and the lovely grass it produces.

Looks amazing mate, are you going anywhere else with it?

Yeah it is still ropey on my machine. Constantly crashes as its dealing with billions of polygons but definatly worth a buy. I mean you don't even have to buy it to use it, the free version is good and so is the trial piece.

Thanks dude , yeah I was hoping to do a short animation of the ship flying through, however it took me 4 hours to render this still so I might have to wait till I get a better machine.

is that a background picture? or just extremely impressive modelling?

Its not a background picture but I would be lieing if i said it was impressive moddeling. The terrain the ship and the tower mountains are all modelled but the trees are radomly generated in Vue. As much as I would like to say that I modelled all those trees the reality is that Vue created them.

This is why I hold Vue in such high regard, you are able to create massive scenes like this very easily. Its an industry standard piece of kit and was used in Terminator Salvation and other movies.

So I ended up with something completely different to what I first went with but still I think it looks nice.

I like to think the yellow orb is some sort of energy device and the evil caped man is there to steal it. But thats just my stupid imagination.
