Okay, I know how to export files from blender to direct X. I also know how to convert them hence to dbo.

Here's a problem I'm experiencing with my animation, however. The arms of my character are shrinking and growing in the character's walking and running animations. I haven't done any other animations yet, and I'd like to solve this problem beforehand if I can. All the other bones seem to deform just fine. It's just the arms, forearms, and hands.

When I load my model into direct X viewer, the arms are not shrinking and they're not growing either. They deform perfectly. When I upload it into DBPro however, they grow and shrink as the character runs/walks. Same thing with "3D Object Viewer" which I use to convert direct X objects to DBO. They just grow and shrink as they sway from side to side.

Has anyone had this problem before? Anyone know how to fix it?

How many frames are in your walk cycle and how many keyframes are there for each bone in the arm? I've only just started using blender myself but it sounds to me like there isn't enough keyframes for the arms.

I'd try adding a keyframe for each frame of the walk cycle for each bone in the arm and see if that changes anything when you export. If you have already done that then I'm not really sure what the problem could be.

Hope I was of help.

Although now that I think about it, it might be the version of directx sdk that you have. I know that some directx export plugins require a certain version of directx sdk. I have the June 2008 and August 2009 sdks installed because I was having a problem exporting animated models a while ago.

Also, since you can view your animation in directx viewer, it probably means that you have a lot of ticks per frame. Most of my animations play too fast to be seen if there is shrinking or not. Lessening the ticks per frame may make a difference.

I'm pretty sure though it's the version of DirectX you have installed that's causing the problem since it sounds a lot like a problem I was having a while ago.
