Well dont follow that tutorial, ^_^" the proportions are a little off, but for a first time thier good.

I recommend this tutorial,

process/character_tutorial/character_process.htm

Follow this and im sure youll find olife easier, and plaese resist the turbo smooth/sub surf/ HOMG MAKE IT A ZILLION POLY SMOOOOOTH!! function. It removes alot of the detail if you dont rework it.
