Hey all.

Sorry about the last time I posted this I didn't post it right (in the models and media thread) will read stickies next time.

But anyway,

It seems whenever I load a custom model into the segment I am making, and into FPSC, the program crashes whenever I put it in the editor. It's saying RUNTIME ERROR 7001- COULD NOT LOAD MESH AT LINE (I FORGOT) PATH/PATH/PATH. The model is there, and I have tries everything to fix this. I am exporting the model as a Direct X 8.0 file from milkshape. The only thing i havent done is grouping all the meshes together after the model is complete before exporting it, but I already tried a single mesh model and it still didn't work.

This has been a real setback for me.

Thanks for the help

ps. heres a screen of an example of a custom model I made.

He means Operating System, like Vista, 7, XP, etc. But that wouldn't matter.

Go to my website, if I get enough members, I will buy a domain and appoint more moderators

Yes, I mean Operating System.
I've had the same Error with Windows7 Professional. Win7 has some security changes which uses a virtual store folder. Some packs won't work correctly. I have given the folder c:\program files\...fps creator full user rights. Now every thing is fine.

I think I may have solved the prob and I think it has to do with the way I am exporting it. The .x files that I made are signifigantly different than the ones that FPS creator uses. But I could be wrong, ill have to play around a little more

UAC isn't actually the problem, and I think its just the way the files are formatted. They both look different but they say the same things. I am using the DirectX 8.0 Exporter from milkshape, but I also tried JT but the segment editor didn't even load it.

This is getting to be a REAL setback for my project. I have done google searches and I still havent found anything... perhaps maybe anyone know how to do this and could you show me how to get a custom seg into FPS creator? because Ive just about had it with silly problems like this... Wizard of id perhaps? Cause I have seen some great custom work that you have done and I was wondering how you get into fpsc. Great segments by the way!

im back
from my experience i recommend When modelling your model you should have the separate parts grouped together. otherwise you will probably have texture problems. this is also the case with entities.

according to this .fps file you have three meshes. 2 Wall.x meshes and a floor.x mesh.
they are textured with wall2_D2.dds and floor2_D2.dds they are all rotated some way and are csg immune.
(doors cant be cut into them.

If the above information seems correct and those are the names of your meshes and textures then i don't see a problem. if not can you provide the paths, names and file types of all the parts.

If you wan't i can put it all together for you. i'm feeling nice today.

as for my stairs i have it figured out. thanks for asking though.

EDIT
oops. ive just noticed that the problem is solved. NVM
