Curious: Is there an operability issue with DBPro and touchscreen technology? I have not seen any commands for touchscreens and was wondering if this would be added at a later date...

Another idea... Minimal DarkNET client/server for audio/video conversations via webcam and microphone.

Thanks.

Most touch screens emulate mouse presses so functionality is built in, if however you're talking about Microsoft surface and multi-touch then it could be added with plug-ins.

I would have thought that it would be functionality built into Direct X 11 since it's a part of windows 7 but I'm not too sure.

Touch screens = mouse. So if you have a touch screen, you can gauge the touch location with just the mouse location. Dual touch might be a bit of a push, but simple mouse emulation is automatic.

As for webcams, I believe there is a plugin that will get the data from a webcam, live image feed which people have already used to cool effect - like making a distance measuring device with a webcam and a pointer.

You know that if you have a a webcam you can make a touch table thing, where your fingers are tracked and the results fed to the screen. Multiple fingers too, as it's actually the image of your fingers on a light surface, even a sheet of paper. Seen some pretty cool stuff on youtube, virtual finger painting, photo rotation ala iPhone etc etc. There's lots of videos for this on Youtube.

The other thing which would be of great use is touch sensativity.

I have drivers.
I was looking at building a 'wrapper' for each item, but I no longer have the time I need to do so.

Could someone help me locate the 'camera plug-in'?
Thanks.

Check out this page from the forum, and this download.
This I found by searching the forum for webcam. It's not rocket science.

@Mobiius: Thanks.
I found it that way too... LOL

I was wondering how you could work this one to and from a memblock. Something I've never done before, and how would I use DarkNET to transmit the stream from Host's camera to Client while transmitting Client's camera to Host?

Any suggestions?

@Van B: I learned that about the touchscreen from the gentleman who is engineering the kiosk for my programming partner. LOL

Also, the other things with the camera you suggested are not going to be included for this particular program, though I may look into it for other things. Thank you for the suggestions, though.

I found the DLL and the INI files through the links-- thanks.
But I am having a dilemma: I want to be able to stream the video with the audio to another person, as I'm doing the same with the second person.

I have been using the source provided in the links, but I am at a loss. I cannot just "record sound" and save it with saving just one picture at the end of the recording. This makes no sense. I'd also need to know if there's a way to make "a video" without using another program to combine the separate video and audio. (I'm testing this using my server with an Xbox Vision Camera, and my lappy with a built-in webcam.) I can stream the video to the same computer, but not to the other one.

Using DarkNet, which I have purchased, can it be done? (If this should be dropped to the DarkNET forums, I will...)

I need to be able to run both streams of video, losing them (not keeping them) while we're running-- but recording it, and audio, for messages. Please, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes this is possible. Put the audio and video input into packets, send them and then read the data from the packets at the other end and play the audio or video.

You can also use the DarkNet in built sound commands which are specialised for networking.

Is there a demo program for this? If so, I'd like to see how it operates.
I purchased DarkNET a while ago and not knowing much about it, I wanted to do something that could showcase what it can do. A kiosk information system with interaction back and forth between two people. With the "agent" able to drop in a video presentation (later) and a mapping system (akin to Google Maps) for local places and events.

Please, any help would be appreciated as my deadline looms...

I looked at the Sounds demo for DarkNET, but it looks like it should be simple...
I am not averse to poking and prodding the code, but is there anyway this could be used in conjunction to Jukuma's webcam dll? If so, a quick client/server example would be most useful!...

Thanks.

Still can't get this to work...
Not sure what to do or how to transmit the audio/video.

Seems to be easy to make this work, but it seems I'm lost.
