Hi everyone!

I would like to announce YourGameDesign.com. A site that I have been working on since November and is now ready for public display.

YourGameDesign.com is a site primarily for beginner and hobbyist game developers. It is specially focused on non-programmers who dream of making their own computer game but haven't started yet.

The site has a range of tutorials and smaller motivational articles. Some of all this is naturally about FPS Creator since this game engine is well suited for the target audience. The articles usually cover topics like how to share your game, setting realistic targets and if you should sell your game when it is done.

While many of you probably know everything there is to know about FPS Creator I simply wanted to let you know of the site. New articles are added regularly (daily at the moment) and if that is still not your thing then you may know someone who could use the site to get into game development.

Also notice that you can follow updates through RSS and Twitter or subscribe to the YouTube video channel. There is even a Facebook fanpage

I hope you like the site - it's been quite a project for me. Please share with your friends if you like it and write a comment on what you think.

I enjoyed your tutorial: Tutorial on how to make simple menus for your Game Maker games on your facebook page. I had seen several tuts on YouTube on how to make menus but I can't understand those, this was the easiest and you teach really good. Thanks

and can you please tell me how to make the buttons change image when mouse over, or better I say it "rollover"?

Excellent! Well executed and truly informative. The progressive (blog-like) style makes it a great resource, sure to keep beginners and would-be experts returning on a regular basis. Your passion for the pastime really makes this a winner.

This is the kind of site where I might actually sign up for notification of new articles. Keep it fresh.

Brian.

Thanks everyone! Nice to hear the feedback

yearcut: simply add a 'Mouse enter' event to your button and set a 'Change instance' action (found in the Main 1 tab) to the button-object you want to switch to. Remember to make it reverse when the cursor leaves the button. I can't really go into more detail on a FPSC forum but that covers the basics of it

Added your link to fpsFREE.com and I have one space left for a 120x120 GIF on the main page if you're interested.

Thank you for the link xplosys

I have to ask wether I need to pay for the GIF? I really don't have much of a budget for advertisement at the moment.

I don't like how it's blog based. Never a good start for a tutorial site. Custom code a CMS and submission system, will be way more customizable and helpful to all in the long run. I've got some PHP code for a simple blog I made, which could be easily modified to a content submission system if you really want it.

No, I don't charge for ads. Just send me a 120x120 GIF, animated or not, and I'll put in on there for you. As for it being blog based, I think it works perfect.

@ Scurvy Lobster

Cathy and I would like to add to our weblinks as well on FPS-Media if you are okay with it. The more advertisement, the better for you

Cheers

Mike

crispex: thank you for the input! I am considering a magazine styled layout instead of the blog-like feel (can easily be done with Wordpress themes). Before that eventually happens I will probably make some low tech ways of navigating old articles in an easy manner (a bit like I did with my Quick Start Guide). I love Wordpress so I will keep that system as it is extremely flexible and allows me to take the site in almost any direction.

xplosys: I will send you a GIF asap

BlackFox: You are very welcome to add a link to my site
