While I know the last time that I posted the link to the forum, it was accepted, I am unsure about this time. I made sure to wait until I had some content up on my forums before I posted this, so I hope that that means something.

Simply put, Gunn3r Games is back. The former largest third party FPSC-based forum is back under a new title and ready for business. The rules, like Gunn3r Games was, are a little different than TGC, with team requests and game ideas allowed, and even encouraged. Featured on the MBD forum are projects that haven't been seen outside of Molten Byte Design, such as a full look at eternal, including the full story, and a full feature list.

For those interested, check them out at http://forum.moltenbytedesign.net

Thanks for your interest, and I hope to be able to see most of you at MBD as well.

Hey, Deathead! It's great to see you around. I'd be happy if we got all of the GG members back, but I think since it's been a whole year since GG, everyone's kind of moved on. We shall see, though.

Welcome back. You're the one I talk to on MSN at times. Anyway, I really can't say I like the forum software you're running. It seems too...under-developed.

Temporarly away from the Phoenix Sentry.

Well, it's one of the better ones available that use an SQL Server, and because we're using one member database for our site as well as our applications in an SQL Server database, it seems only logical to use the forums in the same database. Once we have some time (i.e. Once Zane has some time), he'll spend it fixing up the forum to make it function a bit better. However, compared to the Apollo forum system, it is a little bit farther along in the development system. I am able to embed music and YouTube videos into posts, and the editor for the MBD forums is a bit more advanced than that of the Apollo editor.

What forum are you using? Like phpBB, wordpress, etc? Because I've a forum as well on my site, but more people will pay attention to yours as you are more respected than me, sadly

Or did you make your own?

It's a fairly obscure forum software known as Web Wiz. It's programmed in ASP, instead of PHP, making it fully compatible with the rest of my site (ASP.NET so that I can interact with applications such as GameXS). For a PHP based forum (which is likely what you would use), I would highly recommend SMF. It's by far my favorite forum software. We're planning on heavily editing our current software so it's more functional, as well as faster, so keep an eye out for that later on down the road. We thought about making our own, and got a little bit into it, but because of real life situations piling on top of each other, our programmer (ZaneK on MBD), had to put it on hold for a while. I decided to go this route and just edit what we have.

Well, it turns out opening the MBD forum was a good idea. We're nearly at 20 members in 3 days, and over 100 posts. I'm certainly pleased with how the community's shaping up. At this rate, we'll have the traffic flow of Gunn3r Games, but with the new additions that me and Zane (the programmer) have been working on.

Just wanted to give a quick bump, as we've got a nice flow of posts going, and some of the more familiar faces from around here (i.e. Kravenwolf, DarkFact, Roger Wilco...) We're also starting to get some members from Polycount, so if you want some good critique on your 3D projects, we'd love to have you.

One of the things I noticed, too, was that if you do a Google search for "fps creator botb", the very first result is the Molten Byte Design blog.

A third bump, but for new info yet again. While we have slowed down a little bit, we're getting a project close to finishing. We've been diligently working away at the 11,500+ threads in the models and media down, and have about 2,200 done. While I keep working away at categorizing all the media, stay tuned over at the Molten Byte Design forums to be the first to get in at the beta when we release it in the near future.

The picture attached is a current look at the database... It's much bigger than it was in the FPSC Developer Content Browser. There's some awesome stuff that was released for free.

Hey!
We've gone through a slow spell, but we're definitely picking back up thanks to you guys. I'm excited to see what the next couple weeks hold in store for the Molten Byte Design Forum (like a beta for GameXS?). Anyway... Keep the support up! It's greatly appreciated. And for those of you who aren't members yet, it's definitely not too late to join. We'd love to have you, and you'll be among the first to get a copy of GameXS when we release a beta here soon.
