I tried compiling one of the samples and that is the error I got. There is no atls.lib that was packaged with what I downloaded.

I figured it out...I have it working...turns out I wasn't linking the files correctly.

go to projects/properties/linker/input/ignore specific library/ and type atls.lib. you might also avoid some problems by adding LIBCMT.lib to the ignore list.
