I have been working on an isometric tile editor for a little while now and have a thread in this forum about it. I have added a section for it to my website now and it has a board over at my forums.

Site:

Forums:

I figured it only fair that I actually name the utility. The new name is IsoME (unsurprisingly). If anyone is interestd in this project and thinks they might have something to offer, drop by my forums and be the first to post on it's board or drop me an email.

P.S. Still eagerly awaiting those tiles Rob

I am almost ready to release version 1.0 of IsoMe.

Here is the latest screenshot:

I plan to release it sometime tomorrow afternoon/evening. Bear it mind that it is not completely finished and I have many more plans for it (next on the list are tile transitions ).

I hope you like the new screenie (note the resources that have been added and the change in the GUI).

Cheers,

indi

thats starting to look pretty good bro.

Have you thought about diagonal tiles to reduce sharp edges.
I know it results in a lot of combinations of twin patterns but it can help to reduce some sharper areas, Unless of course your engine needs to know of one pattern per square to do its thing.

It's already tomorrow in Australia

Thanks Indi,
I will definitely add diagonal tiles as you have suggested. I hope to, eventually, add different layers to the map to allow for more seamless tile transitions.
