It seems to me that the way to use a shader is:

1 create new camera
2 associate shader with camera
3 create quadfx
4 create plane
5 associate quadfx with plane
6 render new camera to plane
7 sync this new object and camera in each frame.

What a pain in the ^$&^%!

If the shader can be associated with an existing camera (my app has 9 cameras) why can't I just dbPaste the offscreen image to the foreground?

The problem I have is that with my 9 cameras, under program control some cameras may or may not be visible, and on top of that
some may or may not have the greyscale effect applied.
two cameras can be visible with one camera taking top 1/2 of the screen and another camera taking the bottom 1/2 of the screen.
The bottom 1/2 is the one I want to greyscale fx sometimes depending which camera it is.

or maybe the top 1/2 of the screen is greyscale sometimes.

Anyone have any suggestions on how this can be done?
Or is the quadfx the only way.

Thanks.
