Hi there, I've stopped (NOT abandoned) my current project.

And I've found on my hard drive some old maps i've made for an Half-Life Blue Shift remake .

In this game, you are Barney, a security guard, he's carriying:

Blue Shirt
Blue Pants
Bulletproof Vest

Here's my question:

What weapons I can use for this remake ?

MP6 (Simon's hands)
or EAI Stuff ?

Please apologize my bad english, I'm French.

EAI has some funky looking sci-fi hands in his model packs that look like the HEV suit hands. As for Barney, I'm sure a store search will return a suitable model which can be re-textured.

Barney doesn't wear a HEV suit in Blue Shift.

And gameplay/level size wise, your not going to be able to fit Blue Shift in an FPS Creator game. With the tiny map grid, even if you split each tiny Goldsrc game in to even tinier FPS Creator maps you probably wouldn't be able to fit it in the 50 level limit.

And surely if you're doing a re-make of something, you'd use your own content? Imagine if Guard Duty (BS remake for Source) use'd gordon freeman's HL2 weapons or ones from FPSBanana? It just wouldn't work.

I agree with Aaagreen (what a weird-looking sentence)-->FPSC is not the tool to recreate a bestselling game (even if as old as the original HL) because your recreation will surely lack a ton of things but probably improve nothing.

And inventing an original background for a game is HTF* in my opinion.

Recreating an existing game experience is a good way to put your FPSC knowledge to the test. The drawback is you can't really distribute anything if you manage to make a good experience because of legal issues.

You can always take inspiration from other games in terms of features and gameplay but always try to put your own story, setting and characters around them

If you want a Blue Shift style soldier, go to FPSfree, go to characters and there's an awesome one there. As for weapons, not sure. Would be cool to have similarities to HL.

Do you have a wip thread somewhere? Are you using Headcrabs? They're awsome...

I think there is a Half Life zombie there too. Animating and scripting a headcrab will be a real challenge but would be very cool to see in FPSC
