DarkBASIC Professional Discussion / Errr.... DIM problems?

I downloaded the trial version for DBPro, and began coding a simple project. The very first line I have declared an array as follows:

dim offp$(18)

I then declared each element of the array to their proper string values.

I then added a few print statements to write a welcome message up on the screen, then I ran the program to see if all was well so far.

I never saw my welcome message. The screen displayed the DB logo and looked like it was about to run, but then it immediately closed again.

I decided to "run in step-through mode" and got the following error message:

Could not understand command at line 1.

Line 1 is the DIM statement I wrote above, which certainly appears to be correct. Can anyone help?

If that code is it, then I'm not surprised you didn't see anything.

Two problems with your code :

A) You need a SYNC command
B) You need something to halt the program.

Ahhh, ok. I guess I got confused because in DB (classic) it didn't require those commands. I also got confused because of the error message that it gave me when I executed it by step.

DB classic certainly should require those commands . In Classic and Pro both, the code simply runs to end the finishes because it's done everything you've told it too.
