I installed update 1.16 for FPS Creator x9 and when I try to
run it, It pops up saying, "install directx 10 2007 or later" and doesn't start up.

Funny thing is, I have Windows Home XP Service Pack 3, so, uh, why do I need directx 10 being that it's not compatible with XP.

This has me laughing and confused at the same time. If this helps, I have an ATI Radeon HD 4650 that is compatible with directx 10.1.

can someone help, please?

I had that happen when I had to do a fresh install on my XP machine. Although my restore cd was XP Home SP2, all I had to do was install the directx_aug2009_redist.exe file and it worked out fine for me.

Cheers

Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike.

Yeah, I did a repair with my XP Home SP2 and updated windows all the way up to SP3.

I had directx_aug2009_redist.exe already on the hard drive BEFORE I repaired windows.

Did the repair install an earlier version of directx, overwriting the previous directx? I thought it didn't do that. If so, just reinstall directx_aug2009_redist and it should fix it?

Thanks,
Brandon
