Now I can start FPSC version 1.16 but it locks up on the "..checking your files.." screen and the only way out is Ctrl+Alt+Del and end application.

I really don't want to use 1.15 because there are good fixes in 1.16 (especially the footfall sound reduction), those loud footsteps were annoying.

I don't have a clue on modding or I would just change what I don't like about 1.15.

Unless someone has any clue, I'll just not use FPSC because the update fixed alot of the stuff I didn't like in 1.15, like the shotguns in the gun model pack, and added things light the candlelight.fpi or whatever, aspect ratio, bunch of stuff.

FPSC x9 is just too buggy, If I can't stabilize this program I will have just wasted money, and spend it all over again for x10 (if it works on Windows 7, and isn't NEAR as buggy)

Do you have tried a fresh reinstall of FPSC? (uninstall all, reinstall fpsc, upgrade to 1.16, reinstall model packs). Maybe a firewall blocking some files too...

Windows 7, Amd Athlon 7750 Black Editon (64 bit,3ghz + Dual Core), ATI Readon HD 4870 1gb Edition, 4gb Ram.

I had this problem. Try opening up Task manager, and closing out the process for FPSC-MapEditor. That worked for me.

it was the best song in the world..."
