Hello friends,

I'm developing a simple third person shooter engine in DBPro that uses FPSC maps.

So far I have implemented:

- load FPSC level (some issues with textures)
- world collision detection
- camera
- simple movement and animation
- Zoom with right button
- crosshair

Almost ready:
- Aiming
- Shooting
- Bullets

Screenshot:

Video (sorry for the bad quality): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9sWKymEiqU

What do you think?

Best regards

That's a good start. I assume that the levels will eventually be more detailed and these are just a test?

Not much else to say really as it's quite early days by the looks of things. Have you considered smoothing/slowing the bobbing of the player, it's quite jerky right now.

keep at it though, looks promising

I want robotic legs.

Hello Butter fingers,

Thank you for your comment.

Yes, the levels should be more detailed. Actually I'm thinking in not using FPSC levels at all and use Cartography shop maps. As long as it is free now it should be easier for everyone to develop a map with it.

This is a simple CSM in the engine:

Regarding the bobbing, yes it does look jerky I need to work in the animation and video quality doesn't help either.

Best regards

Hi KISTech,

Thank you!

I'm putting this project on hold for a couple of weeeks.

I will try to focus on this one for a while: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=165947&b=8&p=0

It's a 2.5d top view game engine.

Best regards

Hello friends,

New version (v0.2), new map, new features and a new video:

I'm planning to add enemies and shooting in the next release . I have been experimenting with a FPS view and cover system, as well.

Hope you enjoy the video.

Best regards

A few of my industrial models on the TGC Store would go well with that map .

The engines coming along nicely. Just keep in mind you should be focusing more on game-play and mechanics instead of level design right now (kind of shooting myself in the foot with that comment ).

Looks good. Seems to work solidly. Graphics are clear and aesthetically pleasing. Will look better with animations for the main guy, and presumably the people he'll be shooting in the face. The extra camera map looks nice and works well even with going into buildings. I'm impressed.
