I have fpsc 1.16 and cant get a waypoint to work for the life of me.

I have the waypoint set up, and place an entity at the start. Changed the main fpi to follow.fpi and test the level. The entity will walk a few steps then stop going forward and just walk in place going nowhere.

Do I have to change anything to get the entity to walk on the patch?

@ rrd2009

I use the pace script for my characters and waypoints. Here is a script for you:

I use this for our WW2 game and assign to the German soldier characters to pace waypoints. When the player is seen, they will stop their waypoint and attack me. Otherwise, everything from the screenshot looked good.

Hopefully this will get you going.

Cheers

Mike

I'll give it a shot! Thanks! I read the manual follow would just make them follow the waypoint and ignore the player, but getting them to follow the waypoint at all will be an improvement. FPSC also crashed when I tried to compile a test level :/

I'm Having a similar Problem, it doesn't matter what scripts i use the entity will only walk a few steps and then get stuck walking on the spot, it's slightly irritatting. Is this maybe a bug or glitch? or am i just being a bit thick and not doing it right?

I can see from your smile, you're not here for the sunset.

They seem to get stuck for loads of reasons, but I found that the best way to get something to walk along a waypoint was to lift the entity upwards so that it is floating just above the point. Not too far, maybe about 1 or 2 inch, but if you do that then they seem to (95% of the time) move along the waypoints without a prob.

They do ofc walk along the ground and NOT stay floating in mid-air! LoL

Hope this helps ya
