Hi everyone, self-professed n00b here. Greetings to all, and may I say this FPS Creator does look intriguing! I actually have a copy of DarkBASIC still floating around this house somewhere, although I don't think I ever actually tried it! lol. 'Twas many years ago...
Anywho, I would like to start by saying that I have tried searching through this board but couldn't find anything terribly relevant, so I do sincerely apologise if there is in fact a clear-as-day answer staring me right in the face somewhere. As a moderator on another board I know only too well how annoying it can get when people post things seemingly without bothering to search beforehand. Just please be aware that I DID try!
Well, my question is in the title really. I'm a big fan of Deus Ex and its recently-released mod "The Nameless Mod". More than anything I'd like to try something similar but seeing as how I don't know the first thing about game modding or the Unreal Engine I don't exactly see myself pulling it off! So I've been looking into alternatives which is how I came across FPSC.
Deus Ex is a first-person game, but it also has the conversation system that switches to a third-person cinematic-like view, and allows the player to choose from a variety of possible dialogue and responses which can affect other characters' replies and feelings towards you.
Of course your product is called the
First-Person Shooter Creator. I'm also fully aware that this isn't the Unreal Engine we're talking about here. So I know it's probably a long shot, but could it theoretically be possible to recreate a similar system using FPSC, with multiple branching conversation tress and third person views? Or am I just pointlessly hoping to implement a feature that is simply beyond the program's capabilities?
My sincerest appreciation to any enlightenment. Thanks in advance.
