I do not own a version of DB but am looking into purchasing DBPro.

Something that I'm curious about is how to protect media files used in an application created with DB. I.e. wav files, sprites, 3d models

Do the DBPro functions support memory pointers to the various supported formats, or does the actual file have to be referenced? If so the files could be loaded and then converted in memory (granted this may have to be done using a dll) to a format that DB supports directly. This would also allow for multiple files to be compressed together into a single file.

Does DBPro support executable recourse files other than icons and cursors?

I know none of these garuntee content protection. But it does eliminate 99% of the people out there. If none of the methods above work, is there others that could be used in DBPro?

DBP will compress all media into the .exe and encrypt it to. Should be secure enough for a game I would think.

You could pack the files into a password enabled RAR file too, and read into memory or something similiar.
