Next to your game, an installer is probably the next most important thing, because it's responsible for getting your game files to the proper directory.

So, any ideas on how to go about writing an installer?

I wouldnt even worry about an installer. Honestly there are free, and extremley cheap ones out there, that are better.

i`v put some basic code in but i think falelorn has the best idea with geting an free or cheap one.

It's a nice freeware installer that I use every now and then, and it should be able to do what you want.

You can use a program to create MSI files, like Wise for Windows Installer.
Download the demo version

Just download it, you might need to have visual studio as it fits into that (not sure though).

Then add files to the install, add start menu options, dependencies etc. and you're away.
