very nice hands

to answer your question i unwrap hands by creating a seam that runs right from the wrist, along the center of the thumb and fingers excluding the small finger as when you unwrap it, it'll essentially be two halves connected at the small finger

Hands look nice! The body mesh also!

I guess you followed "poopinmymouth's" tutorial? (i know it sounds weird but its a dude's website, you guys should check it out)

But the fingers look to curvy, you should make them a bit more straight.

let us say you use Lithunwrap, when u are done with the UV map, press save, choose if u want it to ´be filled //random colours\\, show wireframe, or wireframe filled //means it has colours AND a wireframe on top.\\ then choose size, then u open ur photo editing program, press open - find ur UVmap, then start painting.

hope it helps, since it can be applied to any UVmapper.
