I've not worked with "static objects" before, but I don't think they would be affected by HIDE OBJECT.... I think they are a different "type" of object like a "matrix" object is a different type....?

A side note: I would like to know if there is an advantage to using static objects over normal objects....

The fastest code is the code never written.

They're not objects. They're converted to BSP's when using the load static object commands so no object commands can be used on them. As they're static, they're not supposed to be moved or hidden in runtime at all. You'll probably have to delete them, and reload them when they need to reappear again. Or not have them static to start with.
