No idea if it works or how it works, but it was the first result on google and looks promising.
Do note the author's comment in the comments section:

What I do is pull the avi into Adobe Premiere, add headers and footers and such, then export it as something more reasonable. This tool is only meant to be a rudimentary way to create a video stream from a series of still images."
