I am doing some tests with FPSC to see if its viable for a project I have in mind, I want to test large hit decals, standard ones of course are very small, the size of bullet holes, I want to make them large 1 foot in diameter, It looked like I edit the decal spec file. see below the ones I tried editing, I figured these dealt with the decals for bullet holes

FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\decals\soft_impact
FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\decals\shockwave
FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\decals\shockwavered

default is across and down 4, and scale is usually around 20 or 25, I tried changing all the above to this below, tried with standard above and down sizes and with large scale size and visa versa, and with both at once. It didn't do anything.

;decal spec

;DECAL
across = 40
down = 40
offsety = 0
scale = 200

Just how do we get really large bullet holes?

The decals are rendered on a flat plane,the .dds is the texture that is applied to it. I think the plane that is used is called particles.x. If you resize this,(make a backup copy) you should be able to get large decals. I am not sure about this, but that is my best guess.

In my experiments I altered splinters file, its in the same location directory as the above, that made large decals of splinters coming off woodern hit objects, so Im guessing I was not to far wrong, though perhaps its your guess, Id really like to know for sure how it works.
