I have started to work on a paintball multiplayer game but i stoped and asked myself, does anyone want to play a paintball multiplayer game? So i will start a poll to find out.

What the game may include is:
all on all
team capture the flag
night paintball with glow in the dark paint
and just mini games like target practice

The payment maybe monthly with an update every month (add more maps and skirmish's) or one payment and just minor updates to fix bugs and what not.

So if you would like to see this happen put a at the end of your post,
or if you dont think you will like it put a at the end of your post.

I'm not sure if this can be made with fps creator without a mod (I am a slight noob even though i've used FPSC For almost a year).
But just as a request to add in your game if you dont have it, Kravenwolf's Wood pack in The Game Creators store. It is perfect for a paintball game

well just to start off it will be free for all and the person with the most frags wins, also it will be 1 hit kill to simulate real paintball, also paintballs are very limited so you cant just go guns blazing. And it may be in X10 so i can have alot of paople and alot of open maps but that means only vista and up and i dont want the XP and under users to miss out on the fun so i am still deciding

Well, I don't know does capture the flag work, becouse multiplayer can't have dynamic entities. Only guns and people. But I'd like to see this!

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things that I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

@Metal DEvil123: O believe Capture the Flag works. I made a level and it worked perfectly. Just make a weapon as a flag. And u can have melee animations.

Add variable and player in zone command, and it will make another varaible 1 (for flag return). (u can have triggerzones as weapons, but you got to do plrdistwithin=X instead of plrinzone=X)

Keep this up!

I actually started a paintballgame myself a while ago. But since FPSC couldn't offer everything I wanted and I didnt have much time over I put it on hold.

But I got lots of people who wanted to help, contribute and sponsor.
I even got a markermanufactor as a sponsor, I was/am allowed to use their marker in my game.

Severeal teams contacted me and wanted to be in the game

Maybe I will start on it again...

Anyways
I say do it if you think you can make paintball justice

i would be happy to help you but as it seems you got all the help you need. what couldnt you do? because if you coudnt do something then that may mean it is pointless to start if i cant get what i need.

I bet you could work something out. The problem for me was that my game was aimed at hardcore paintballers, so they needed more than just "shoot paint", they needed a paintball simulator. Which FPSC couldn't really do.

But If you get Project Blue or something for Team Deathmatch, a goodlooking paintballmarker and some paintballobstacles (like the ones in the GC Store ) and you got a start >

the main problem im going to have is all the players in the map hurting the framerate, im going to need apple slice for something like that but you cant get apple slice no more, what were you going to do?

all of these players and the big maps wont go well with the framerate so you will need apple slice to speed things up but sadly you cant get that no more, so to solve the framerate issue im going to need a mod that will dramaticly increase the frame rate (one that makes use of multiple cores) but again there are no mods to do that.

so with FPSC it can only handle like 5 people in a small map, and i presume you wernt going to do that so then you would get bad framrate, so how do i fix that other than using X10.

And if i was to use X10 i am told that you cant mod it yet so that means i cant do team death match or what not so that is why i asked if you can mod X10 the way you mod X9?

Nope, you can't mod X10 as easy as X9. You would need to recieve a copy from Lee, which I dont think he gives to everyone.

I would start with a organised post at first atleast. I also may add that "No" i do not think that a paintball game would be interesting.Who knows i might be wrong! But i cant see how it would work with FPSC to produce (in a multiplayer aspect) any kind of sell-able game per subscription. I do think the aspect of selling through subscription is stupid, however if the material is done and finished before the selling of the subscription has started, if you are planing to finish the project then sell i might be interested, but of course i would have needed something like a demo or maybe a free month to try.

The overall idea is possible but as a single player game, not multiplayer not now not ever.

single player? I reckon it would be rather elementary because i will have to program the AI and simulate battles, it may be easier in X10 but its just not going to happen, anyway i think that multiplayer paintball will be far better, instead of playing with AI you can play/vs your freinds. And it is far more easier.

While I prefer real fake guns,,Paintball sounds interesting, I like the ideas about glow in the dark, and capture the flag, if you could get these working. As far as dynamic entities, I have made a multiplayer map with cd's that you could load into a stereo and play music. You pick up the cd in the map, walk up to the stereo and press enter, and the song starts. So I think you could do the same with a flag. "Where there's a will, there's a way".
And glowing paintballs would look pretty cool if you can pull that off. So I vote ya, if you can get those two working.

If you cant pull of CTF there are other types of games, like Teamelimination. May be more simple.

yes well in X10 if you put the ambience to 0 certain lights on the segments stay lit, so then i can use the same effect on the splats. So i will look into it but i am no programmer but i know a few who are. Also i do believe that in model pack 22 bond 1 talks a little bit about in that movie i think.

And @cyborg ART i am not farmiliar with teamelimination, i havnt come across it in the usaul unreal or the like i think.

Why not upload it to the GC Store so everyone can get it and I get paid?

I may upload it for everyone to use, it all depends on DAOTM

Its made with my Tippmann A5 as a reference, The hopper may look big, but that is because it uses "cyclone feed" which allows it to shoot 20bps without electronics. Standard hoppers without electronics loads in maybe 3 or 5bps

But some electronic hoppers may load balls in stunning 50bps

Hmm...that's strange. Try downloading them again, and using them directly from the purchased folder, and see if they show up in the editor that way. If not, let me know, and I'll email them to you.

No, it cannot. It uses flak, which is not functional in MP.

He probably wants it to shoot a "paint bomb" But yes, the RPG won't work the way it is in multiplayer. But, you could remove it's flak, give it a LARGE spray of paint as a muzzle flash, and then just turn it into a shotgun. Anyway, I'll download the walls and see if I get the same problem, then send them to you via email later today.
