Specs:
1.5ghz
640MB RAM
GeForce 3
DX9.0

I'm getting a strange error. Every time I try to load a sound it says it fails. the sound is in 22,050 8 Mono. I've also tried it at 16bit. Same errors occure though.

Code is in the box

Other notes:
------------
It is possable that this sound file already exists, however, it is doubtful... I put a check before it and deleted the sound if it already existed... that didn't work so i remarked it out. The code I am running is really old (way back in the days of upgrade 3 or 2 or something), but it doesn't seem it would matter much. This patch is backwards compatable is why.

Current Projects: Game Spawn 85%, mini BSP maker 50%, Height Mapper with many features 75%, Space Tactical (Like BC300AD) 15%.

NEVERMIND! Figured it out! It appears you can't load ANYTHING inside a function...

oh wait...... only in this one program you can't.... what the?!!!

More code follows....

By the way, if you run this it will probably work for you... my next question is is anyone else getting wierd things happening when they use functions? Oh and no, I'm not resorting to Gosubs... those won't work.

Moreover, I can't load sounds, graphics, or evern open a file for reading or writing. the funny thing is i don't get any errors for manual file opening, it just doesn't do it.

Quite true.

Are you using Patch 5 ?

Sounds like you've got a pretty messed up system - a re-installation of DBPro would be in order, I think first.

I found I couldn't load teh Windows "Ding", I think there is a limit on how low you can go in quality.
