Been designing and modeling this in the past hour or so, go easy on the crit as this is my first ever character

I'm struggling to keep this under 500 quads, BTW. I should probably make the arms lower-poly as well.

Any crit on the overall model efficiency is welcome but I'm also after crit on the design, definitely. I'm not quite sure that I'm pleased with the neck area, seems a little odd to me?

i have to say that the face is too high poly for the overall polycount that the compo is for =P

it is a very cool model though

Its 500 quads and 1000 tris' now.

Its a pain since we've had a free lease on polycounts upto now and overboarding detail is too easy. Its looking good so far, Can i see a wire since that cant be 500 polies is a little high for that.

Quick shaving tip: areas that cant be seen, the inside of the joints, can be deleted.

Yes I'm taking a lot of care in checking for faces that I can delete, and manipulating certain parts so that I can delete those as well.

Yes, and that's why the face is so much higher-poly than the rest of the body, because I can't stand not having the distinguishing features being recognizable all the time.

Yes I know, I had to sacrifice polies there because the legs are gonna need a little more detail when I get around to those.

Also for anybody that's interested I'm taking inspiration from this little guy, a character from the game Scrapland.
