Not really, you have to be willing to fork at least some cash for something decent.

Some people would say Blender but if you're easily offended by confusing layouts it'll put you off modelling forever.

Jeku always gets drunk and tries to Moderate the ocean. Tirelessly slapping the waves as they roll in.

I suggest, save up and buy milkshape. I think it's your best bet, alot of modelers here use it, you had issues with the free version. If you buy it, It will work fine.

If your not on the edge your taking up to much room!!!!!!!

There's always Blender. It's better than Milkshape, and it's free. Someone here has even made a series of tutorials for it here.

I always found blender labor intensive for the results I got, It is great software I here, even has it's own game engine, Just was never what I looked for in ease of use and end product. No offence, kravenwolf, or any other blender users.

Yes, it seems Bender may be the kind of program you either love or hate, with no room in the middle. Though I personally find the interface awkward, it is a very powerful program. If you are one of those people who can pick it up and run with it, you've got it made. Otherwise I would also suggest MilkShape.

I use anim8or for modeling and fragmotion for anim the exporter in anim8or has an issue with exporting animations in .3ds but you can export the model and use fragmotion to animate it and then export the .x file to fpsc
