I made a simple wedge and cylinder in Milkshape 3D for my editor and exported to DirectX. Whenever I load the models, they are pure black. There is no distinct lighting or anything, just a black version of the model. I am pretty sure there are two different .X exports for Milkshape, can anyone let me know how they export their .X models from Milkshape?

If at first you dont succeed, call it version 1.0.

DirectX JT with Retained Mode. Should work.

Those are actually the settings I initially used and I still get the same problem. Any other suggestion?

Are you using the models in Dark Basic? If so, use the LOAD IMAGE and TEXTURE OBJECT commands. Also, a lot of people suggest putting the texture in the same location as the .x model.

There's something in this room that makes you can't speak well.

Yeah I am using DarkBasic Pro but I don't have a texture for it. I was hoping that it would default to the same color as a box if you were to make a box from darkbasic.

Maybe you could use COLOR OBJECT?
