it's been ages since i've post but always check up on the forums. anyways i wanted to say that i've got a new pc from best buy with quad core processor with a ATI 4850 w/ 512 ddr3 graphics other than that i have 8 gb of ram. other than that i'm still always making and practing my modeling skills and i've improved alot since the last time i post one. my usual ones are around 1500 polys triangulated. should i increase the polys to make them look better for my future game projects or should i keep improving them without increasing polys?

if you say so i guess im gonna have to put one up. all i have is this car pic. these haven't yet been triangulated yet so yeah. my plan is to save up some money and build up the real life one and someday have it drivable. i can fix cars to a curtain amount btw. The car is about 1080 polys too so yeah. this car wasn't intened to be in a game but this model was a quick prototype. if for a game i can chop out the polys to maybe 500-700 polys. my inspiration were from many cars like a 350Z,DSM eclipse, honda prelude, gtr skyline, Nissan GTR, and my lexus sc300. all cars which it drew it's looks from and also the looks from the Super GT with a mix of street racer style. the car is not done yet it still needs side mirrors and a GT spoiler. as of now after school tomorrow i'll start on work on one and keep everybody posted. right now im taking computer classes and by fall i can finally take 3d animation and hoping for them to teach me the things i don't know how like animation and texturing cuz suck bad on them. my plan is to have my own 3d animation show with cars like Initial D, but with more cars and custom built cars (kit cars). i'd thought it would be a cool to do.

these are the updated pics which i've built the same car but from scratch as you might tell the rear is not year done along with the wheels, lights, etc. This is a work in progress. when it is near done i'll release this model maybe as a freebie, but must give me credit though. i'll try to make a high poly version because all my models had been low poly so far this one is 300 polygons so far it might be 500 in the end or maybe even 1000 polys. my goal is to not exceed 2,000 polys when it is finished.

this is a bad goal, u can put up a box and say that it is a car with this goal, it is better to have a goal like: "my goal is to make it as detailed as possible and under 2k polies", maybe this is ur goal, and i misunderstood. maybe it isnt, however it is looking great=) cant wait for the finished product^^

yes it is and i apologize if i anyone is misunderstood. my goal really is to make it detailed as possible without exceeding 2K polys. i still need many stuff on it like spoiler, interior, removalbe body panel, side mirror, suspension, wheels, etc. my way of making it better was modeling it based of base/sample cars to be able to get what i want but i changed parts of it like fender flares and better/sexier roof and bodylines. im saving up money and finishing my car projects plus sell them and will soon begin to and hoping to save up enough money to build myself the actual one that i can actually drive. the actual one is suppose to be a similar size to new Nissan GTR. gee golly i aim high i guess. lol... but i am a big fan of the 1uz lexus motor. v8 4 cams style and very good on gas for a v8 motor. custom mounted with a manual transmission.

well here's the car so far as you can tell the side view mirror is there now and the wheels are a work in progress. So, what does everyone think?

p.s. the wheels are a staggered deep dish style. The car is now 680 polygon with the four WIP wheels.

well i have updates on it and here it is:
this is the rear taillight i made it look more like a lotus style or something. i didn't realize it looked like one till i thought about it. i might change it.

here is the front updated. the front grill piece and the red part on the front is supposed to be foglight and also a amber signal light.

also feel free to click on the pics to view a bigger view if anyone hasn't notice it yet. also im still sketching out the headlight style. afterwards i redefine the while car then minimize and crunch the polygon rates. after that will be the transmission tunnel thingy under the car. than it's off to the interior. after that that version will be done. than i will release that version and after that i will make a more detailed version with separate body panels. notice that the texture is not yet applied. i might do it but i'd rather have others do it.

I've finally almost done with the headlights just need to make the lens clear and make the housings. so far it's around 650-700 polys untriangulated.

oh thanks. yep... other than that i might be working on a human model on the side since im getting lazy i might give this model as is. the only thing needed is only interior and wheels to be done. also texturing is needed. if your going to use it in anything else make sure to credit to kwathao and tell me something that way if i know it's even worth the effort to post it.
