FPS Creator X10 / Ally Problem

hi im having problems getting allies to work in x10.

i put a character (a police guy from model pack 4) into my editor
change his allignment to friend and then when i start the game he starts shooting me :S

any ideas what im doing wrong?

Privjet comrade!!

Yes, by default those characters use their main scripts and not the darkAI script. So right click on your character, and where is has the three script fields, main destroy and start. Go to main and locate the darkai script. Then he will be your ally if you so choose.

haha thank you my good man working like a charm

will they follow you to the next level? i only want 1 ally so if not il just spawn another at start of each level


EDIT ok he follows me etc but doesnt shoot at anything :s i change him to attack and still nothing he just watches as the horde of zombies and dantes rip me apart

Heya gizmoguy. Sometimes you need to be on his case a little bit, they get stuck on things sometimes, like all AI. In the long run though yes they will follow you to the end of the level. Ok. Make sure the zombie has the same script in main as well. Everything that you want to use the new AI system must all have the darkai script in it. Then set zombie to enemy. Your ally will then proceed to pwn the zombie

Sorry I did not see what you mean by following to next level, no they will not, each level you must spawn another one

ohhh this helped me alot cause im about to buy a model pack and one that i had befor was having those issues also that explains alot!
