Well my storm 1.0 engine is making alot of improvements. Requires Dark Basci Pro, Dark Lights, Dark Physics, Dark Basic Enhancements to run properly.

Objectives are to increase speed, make code manageable, speed up processing by focusing on tasks that need to be proceesed only in certain time frames and only as needed. Features an in game timer that devides tasks into milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years. No documentation is provided as of yet so will take a moderate to expert to evaluate the project.

Features a message processing system with message events, handles, keys for objects and in game items for easy look up and properties using numbers. Allows for dynamic objects, particle and physics creation. Project is only 50% complete but I am opening the management engine built around Dark Basic for scrutiny, opinions and ideas as to how I can improve it.

A Basic framework has been provided. Please post your comments. I am a professinal C\C++ programming and the messaging system is based on the win32 format of message processing but is total geared around dark basic. Be sure you have a Graphics card with Phys x processor integration for best results. My card is an NVida 9200+ with PhysX GPU. Plans to add heat and SSAO to the program in the near future. Currently if set to 192 FPS with Backdrop on and prefabs loaded and hidden rendering stays around 492 fps each cycle so its looking good.

Game plans are to make a 17th century sailing simulation multiplayer with some RPG aspects similar to AGE of Pirates but much more detailed and alot more real basied on historical fact no fiction.

I am looking for development help so if your interested I require good artists with 3D Studio max knowledge, another professional programmer, and a musician with digital music capability for mp3 and sound for wav formats. Leave a post. I am a registered business and will be checking resumes. Profits are agreed upon as an even split from a trust account. I am setup to take credit cards over the net. I will only employ citizens of the us with good references, shown performance and knowledge of C/C++, Basic, HTML, ASP and Dark Basic. Leave a post if your interested I will contact you and tell you where to send your resume. I have a degree in computer science and will only accept individuals with credientials or who can prove proficiency thru work experience and development experience.

Install directX 9.0b and 9.0c and use latest directX. Look forward to seeing your opinions and suggestions.

Be sure you check out NVida FX Composer. I am finding it is an awesome tool for adding special effects to models.

Weird! I totally read this thread about half an hour ago, and there was a huge novel from the author describing his engine. And now it's... gone..?
