We have a user that have received the PB mod via email from another member on the forum which he has refused to give up.The person that have received PB will not be mentioned and should not be mentioned.

Also the person that send the email should also not be name due to possible increase of illegal use.

If you have any information about people using the mod illegal I suggest that you kindly contact a mod ASAP with proof so that we us forum members can nip this in the butt ASAP before it gets pirated to epic proportions.....

Thanks

Maybe you should give us the names so we can sharpen our pitchforks and light our torches

Nope keith has been informed of the who why and where. and he will deal with the matter as he see fit

Giving out names will only result in more pirating....

I paid for PB and I would be very disappointed if any other users were distributing it to other people for free.

I would expect anyone involved in such an act to receive a permanent ban from the forums.

PB is Project Blue.

I have heard alot of good stuff about the engine. Someone should check to make sure its not the the pirate bay...

as for the person who is distributing it illigally should be punished.

Don't know if this thread was completely necessary as I already know about it (found out today). But I can confirm that either way if this person purchased it or not (which he DID NOT!) he also tried to send it to someone else.

He didn't purchase it which means someone else gave it to him and I would love to know who did that. So any information regarding that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That was one of the good things about Horror Mod, it displayed the registered users name. Easy to see who distributed it that way.

Project Blue is not a dark basic product so I belive it's not there problem, that said. I'm shure they will still do something about it as stealing is still stealing. but the problem is they did not do it on the fourms, they did it in an email. in turn if you have no real proof then there realy is nothing you can do at all. as for baning them from here for sending it to someone else in an email, I dont know. but like i said, its trully not the game creators problem.

It doesn't display their real name, only their forum name. I don't see how that could be a breach in privacy anyway. A lot of software flashes "registered user: John Smith" as it opens.

Just want to chime in and say I hope you get this sorted ASAP.

Ripping off bedroom developers is just despicable, plain and simple. You aren't being cool by "sticking it to the man", you are hurting a PEER who is pouring their time and energy into a boutique product that really has no rival, and the money earned probably pales compared to the effort that goes into it.

Whenever I download free software such as the Panda exporter, I always make a Paypal donation if there is an option to do so. It's just the right thing to do.

I agree with this to, well not the part of donating money, I would if I had the extra money but all I make go to my family.

You all already know the punishment for pirating TGC media/programs.

I'm basically going to lay out the punishment of anyone found guilty of pirating 3rd party programs/media that supports FPSC and it's community. A complete banning will occur on any and all accounts of the offending party. You will no longer have the ability to communicate with this community again, nor download anything that is attached to any posts (as a guest).

I think that's simple enough....now to hunt this particular offender down...

On a side note; I just realized that Bond and I joined on the exact same day.

Yeah as a registered user, this really bothers me. Knowing that some of use work to get this mod and appreciate the developers. Where as others merely go on MSN/IM and beg for a mod and the careless member passes on a copy. That is not acceptable there for I'll join in the hunt.

I already have some suspects on my list. Some that "offered" me a copy not knowing I'm an actual owner of it. Hockeykid I'll email you regarding some of those who did this.

Well, if the perpetrator was caught and punished, that's good and dandy, but I think the best solution is for hockeykid to set up a system to prevent this from happening again (or at the very least make it easier to lynch anyone else that does it)

The best thing to do is pass the information to HockeyKid and Keith for them to handle. It will get sorted out without all the speculations and drama.

And one final note in regards to this situation. I will not answer e-mails where people are asking us if we know who bought the mod, etc. Nor will we verify to anyone if we recall who purchased during our time. I would like to make clear that all the code and information went to hockeykid when we stepped down. Cathy and I have no involvement with Project Blue and do not need to deal with Project Blue issues. I'm not pointing at anyone specific- this is a general comment. If you want info on Project Blue, it's users, etc, send it to hockeykid. Any further e-mails are just going to the trash.

Cheers

Mike

I received the evidence I needed and did an email match. Even though the offender didn't have his email listed in his profile; a quick search showed that he had one post in one thread, where he listed his email. That was enough for me.

The offender is no longer a part of this community.

@BlackFox:

If anyone asked me for somebody else's private information regarding Project Blue... I'd say [censored] and be done with them. They have no right to that kind of information, and I could see no use for them having it. They can do their survey another way.

I agree Plystire. Hence the reason I trashed the e-mails. It's not hard to figure out who now runs the project. I just wanted to make our position clear. They want info, they can go through the proper channels.

We shall hunt this traitor down. Hang him, burn his corpse while the family of the traitor shall watch, and then we shall parade with the traitors corpse among the noble men and the innocent to show that piracy is not tolerated amongst our community.

I find it ridiculous that anyone would think its ok to pass on something they just paid for.

Its not being kind and its certainly not being clever. Anyone that does this is completely disrespecting all of the people in the community which respect other peoples hard work.
