Hello!

This topic has been over and over debated on the forum.

Could you release a DBPro which runs with DX10 and above?

It doesn't matter if no speed is gained or such... what I only need is that people with Windows Vista/7 don't need to install DX9.0c .

I want people to be able to run the software I code without installing DX9.

Thanks!

Kind regards,

In order to make it use DX10 exclusively it would most likely require a lot of code to be rewritten. Plus, only those with compatible cards would be able to use it. These days a lot of games coming out still only use DX9.

What you're asking for doesn't exist. There is a DBP X10 that comes with FPSC X10 but it's not compatible with DBP X9.

I think he knows it does not exist, He is asking for DBP to be made compatible with vista and windows 7 "out of the box" I don’t think he wants any features added, however this is very unlikely to happen.

The best solution Marco A G Pinto is to distribute Direct X9C with your program for people who don’t have it. (This can include many XP users.) I have heard of people using an installer which checks the direct X version and installs it if needed. But you could just include the direct X file and a readme document telling people what to do.

Most gamers have Dx9 anyways, Who here has a Dx10/Dx11 graphics card? I For one don't.

Any kind of installer (inno setup, Wise, etc.) has the ability to allow you to install prerequisites with a /silent switch.

COD Modern Warfare 2, one the recent games with the best looking graphics I've seen to date, requires DX9. It's just the way it is right now. The installer will be a little bigger, and it will take a little longer to install, but it's really not that big of a deal.

Like Mad Nightmare said, every gamer out there already has it anyway, because it was required for some other game they installed.

I don't know any recent games that have been released that use DX10+. When I installed ME2 recently, it asked me if I wanted to install DX9.0c. So, be happy with what you have.
