I know it is more powerful than DBC but is it easier?

1.) It's not a matter of being easier or not, it's just more powerful. Gives you many more commands to work with. The more you play with it, the easier it will get.

In terms of syntax it'd identical.

There are a few things which make jobs easier: better collision, commands such as set object cull instead of set object 1,0,1,0,1,1 etc.

For a programmer starting out, probably a little harder, simply because it does more.

DBC -> DB Pro learning curve - I've found it to be minimal. The hardest thing is getting out of DBC habits, such as using #include.

i think its easier because there are more features that dont have odd occurances compared to classic

I found no such trouble, as it's easier to add an include file via the project editor rather than going to all the trouble to resave nad create an #include. But that's me
