Actually it's not Monkey Island..just the same style. Comical look at Victorian life. It's not London, but a parody of it. 2D Adventure, Click and go interface.

Most of the game will be kept secret until it is finished! Mainly because the game needs the element of surprise.

Here's some pics!

You will play a Sherlock wannabe. A poor person who admires Sherlock Baskerville. When a reward is offered for the capture of The Blackchapel Murderer, you set out to get the reward money. It might be called 'Japers Capers'

I could use help in most areas. A good title screen of 'Japers Capers would be useful. Old victorian buildings would also be useful. Or anything really, to save time.

hey pincho thats a nice plan.

Heres some nice reference material

There was a role playing game set in the 30s with gumshoes and the occult and undead.
It was called "call of cthulu" and had some great aspects to detective stories as well as a good rational of statisitcs that sent everyone eventually mad from all the gore or supernatural events they saw. This maddening effect might work with your game in some way as well but is only a minor facet of the info found here.

with any RPG on paper the dm runs a module
heres a sample of one I found online
a harder one
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~kelek/coc/Aunts_House/
a comical one
http://www-personal.umich.edu/~kelek/coc/Drooler/

As you can see its a layout of a mystery with a way for the players to solve it etc.

hp lovecraft is the founder of the fantasy idea as he fleshed out a realm that became the game. 1924

it also looks like someone is making a 3d version of it as well

@Indi

Good examples...Yeah very Discworld! Similar humour, but the best comparison to my game would be..'Carry On Screaming' Or the actual Discworld books by Terry Pratchet. Or Monkey Island itself. Or even all of them mixed in a pot.

Finished this picture of a Victorian Poor Woman 1888!

See it in 'Japers Capers' when it is completed.

Thanks Phaelax!
It's fun making these women from poser models. A bit like making a jigsaw. The next one will have more work done on the face. I'm going to make old people too in the same way.
