Do animations stay if you converted a .obj to ,x?

I'm using 3ds Max 2010 and it doesn't export to .x, so my #1 question is what the title says!

No. .obj only exports the mesh and maybe the bones, I don't know.

OBJ does not support animations or bones, just geometry, normals, smoothing groups and UV coordinates.

If you want to export to DirectX in max then get Panda .X Exporter
