I got this idea of a flashlight that can be done easily.
So,when you fire you gun everything in a (lets say) 2 meter radius become lit.So what if we make,like if you press F the flashlight (weapon) has damage set on 0 and the fire rate at like 999.Meaning the 2 meter radius is lit constantly if you press (hold) F.

Already been done, by Errant. His LED Flashlight pack is available from the store for 50 points.

No, he used a white muzzle flash for the white LED which lights up the area surrounding the player. It is effectively a weapon with no damage but the muzzle flash lights the area.

@Marc steene: Yes he did, as he just brighted the whole ambience up when u click on it. And then the dynamic model appears "lightrays" (anim).

@Red Eye, that is not true. If you look, the flashlight interacts with the room around it, it is not a simple ambience change. Here are some stats taken straight from the gunspec:

;GUN Model File Requirements
;GUN Settings
MUZZLECOLORR = 255
MUZZLECOLORG = 255
MUZZLECOLORB = 255
muzzleflash = 1
muzzlesize = 1
damage = 0
reloadqty = 0
firerate = 1
range = 1

No script exists - no script is called either, seeming as it is not possible to use gunscripts in stock FPSC.

Trust me, it's how it works.

Marc is right,the firerate is very high soo the light is constant and the muzzle light is set to bright so it looks like its illuminating the room.

Stop arguing with Marc, he's right. It's s4real's flashlight that changes the ambience, not EAI's.

It's a HUD which makes the edge of the screen black and increases the ambience to full, to give the impression that the middle circle is lit and the rest is dark.

Yep.

The brightness and perceived range can be lowered by adjusting the RGB values. Unfortunately, the two can not be adjusted independently. It's not perfect but IMO it's a good stock-friendly alternative to scripted ambient-light type flashlights; Thanks to Lee's inclusion of Airslide's firerate code.

@Errant, It's a very clever work around, and can be adjusted to use any colour desired.

I actually did something like this with the EAI spellkit. It did damage tho. It was a very short range low accuracy low damage thing, but it made little sparks like a sparkler. The light flickered, tho. I thought it was more realistic with it flickering.
