Hi !
EA Sports has announced a new Nba Jam version but only on... WII!!
Arg... I don\'t have a WII but a PS3...
So I said to myself \"Hey ! Why don\'t you make your own version of this game in DBPRO?!\"
And so here are 2 screen shots of what I\'ve done until now...
This audience is moving during the game... I\'ve added some gadgets in the audience(the big hands for example... as EA did for the wii version...) Cheerleaders will be here too...
I\'m proud of the reflection effect on the ground(made without any shader!)
Thanx for comments !

Looks cool. I always liked NBA Jam, it had a good pace to it. 3D killed backetball games, the side on, parallaxy view on Jam was ideal, so 2.5D like you have there is what I'd do as well. Best thing is that you'll be able to get a lot of detail if you stick to just 2 or 3 players a side, so a 1000 poly character will look as detailed as you'd need. Lots left over for mirrors, shaders, and particle effects.

Looks like a very interesting project, will keep my eyes on this .

I always thought that if it's not side on, then it has to be first person - third person sports games just annoy me.

Thanx for your comment
Yes the audience is in 2.5D. The players will be in 3D(i'm working on it), but their head will be in 2D. I made some test with a remake of Football Frenzy. 22 players in 3d moving a the same time on the screen with tests for collisions and intelligent movings, so I know that with 4 (or maybe 6) players in Nba the game won't be slow. For the moment, i can tell you that with all the audience, the objects in the audience, the score table, the 3d baskets and the reflection on the ground, the refresh screen speed is very good !
Tomorrow I will put the cheerleaders(maybe animated if i've time) and will try to post a video on youtube
Thanx again !

Hello !
Today was a very busy day... So I've done the cheerleaders, but I didn't have time to animate them... But the mesh is ready to animate, so a video of the arena to show all animation will be available tomorrow maybe...
Here are a picture of the 4 cheerleaders
Enjoy !

New image.
The cheerleaders are animated(a video will be post in a few moments...)It's a simple test but now I know that my meshes are well "boned".
I've changed the way that time and shot time were displayed.
The speed is still ok even in a 1280X800 screen resolution.(You'll see it in the video.)
I've add a bench but remember that some graphics are not definitive.

A little video to see the animated arena... The quality is not as good as I thought, so sorry... Will try to make a better video as soon as possible...
Now it's time for me to animate the players and program their movements

Not a lot of reply it seems... Whatever
Today, I've worked on the animation of the players.
Lebron runs with the ball...
Tomorrow, I hope so, I'll post a video(of a much better quality than the first one) of Lebron dribbling on the field...

No video cause I can't record correctly from my pc !
So juste a little demo with Lebron James.
Use the keys to move Lebron on the field.
It's not perfect but I'm happy with it...

C&C welcomes
