I have some good news
I have noticed in the recent months, links to broken file hosting sites etc. Which is a bit of a shame, because there are a lot of good free stuff out there.
So.. because the community give so much free content away, I have decided to do the same. I am going give away some web hosting accounts for free. I don't want any advertising or pushing extras.
I have not quite worked out the details. But I would like to offer it first, to thread owners who have in the past posted files on a free file hosting account (or other hosted solutions) and lost it due to what ever reason. So when I open up the accounts, it will be to them first. Then after that, we'll see how we go. It all depends on the amount of people who respond.
It will be a full hosting account, so webby is allowed as well. There will be no e-mail facility from within the control panel, FTP access will be obviously allowed. You will get one MySQL database and PHP, Perl and other scripting languages will be allowed. Ok, the space allowed will be 1GB and download will be effectively un metered. Its up to my supplier, if they think its overloading their comms centre
I already have people paying for unlimited (fair usage etc etc blah blah), so you should be fine.
You will have to pay for your own domain name, I can help you point it to the right place. Otherwise, you will get a sub domain on a main one like fpsc-demos.adomain.com. I will be looking through some domain that I have and do not use. The main domain will not hold any advertising and will be held as a blank page.
I am going to list the full details in the next few days. I would like to know who is interested and list their original thread, that is now broken.
The rules will be, but not exhaustive:
- No illegal material, either copyright or deemed illegal content in the United Kingdom.
- I do reserve the right to stop an account for any reason, including my supplier stopping the account, for their own reasons.
- The account must be used for FPSC based material, for webby stuff or downloads of FPSC material.
I will be creating the accounts by hand, so a little patience will be needed.
