I've been trying to build a little suprise 24 hour project for days now. needless to say it's gone past it's 24 hour time frame. It's got some odd bugs happening to it.

FIRST- It wouldn't build, it would crash without error report on loading active guns

SECOND- (after changing the guns) it would build, but certain static entities wouldn't react to darkened light, and would look really bright, like they were dynamic

THIRD- (the next day. removed the media causing the problems and replaced it) I tried to build again and the game would stop on the second saving and optimmising universe, and then crash without error report. (I noticed it took a while to load "adding static entities" it usually doesn't)

NOW- I ran FPSC cleaner, and turned off programs to free up RAM and tryed to build a signifigantly smaller map. it, once again got stuck on the second saving and optimising universe, but this time, a peculiar error popped up, it read:

Rutime Error

Program: C...

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. please contact the application's support team for more information.

not your typical FPSC runtime error, amirite?

has anyone else had this bug/how to solve?

I've had the first building error except with building fragments... I switched mods and it worked fine. As for the bright entities - not sure; try turning off shaders or dynamic lighting. Also, turn the ambience all the way down if the two above don't work...

the enetities isn't my problem. I can't tell if the new problem is a problem with my visual C++ directories not being updated (there have been noc changes in FPSC since the last update so why would it matter?) or my FPSC has decided that it doesn't "feel" like building anymore and I'll have to re-install.

Jeez, do you camp on this thread?

Either that or try updating DX9.

I had the loading fragments bug because of a segment that i was using. I changed it and i built my game level easily.

I also reinstalled it and it allowed me to build the level.

yeah, I think i may re-install, I've just never seen that error message before and I'd like some insight as to why that would pop up.

reliability is one of the main things that the FPSC migration needs to bring to FPSC. I want to not be terrified biting my nails when I'm building, forcing myself not to think about potential errors because it might bring bad luck. I think that FPSC should EASILY be able to build 50 large scale detailed levels. (I just need it to build 1 medium size semi-detailed level)
